Nimzo's Top 250 Albums of All Time (2022 Edition): Underground Overture

My favorite albums ever made.  Over many years, I have carefully kept track of my favorite albums, based on a number of criteria. The most important factors are varied; one album might be a powerhouse of melody and harmonies, another may be a masterpiece of atmospheric soundscapes. However, the true reasons I connect with music are often more ephemeral, and there are a fair number of genres present here. In any case, I've included some pertinent info on each album on this list that could help you decide if you'd like to try anything here. Introduction

  Hello all!   Some of you knew about my previous blog, The Wavy Air Blog. I frequently reviewed music there, in posts called either Listener's Diaries (which were for newer releases), or Retro Recs (older music that I wanted to recommend). I also did lists every so often, Box Sets, and Discography Rankings. I've become a little disillusioned with the writing process I would use in reviews for Wavy Air. I felt simultaneously pretentious and incompetent in a few different ways.   I still love recommending music, making lists and ranking things. Therefore, I decided to create this new blog.  Some of you are friends from RYM, last.fm and other music sites. Others have found their way here from Facebook or Mastodon. Needless to say, many of you don't listen to some of the same genres of music that I do, but I am confident that everyone can find something entertaining, moving, or just plain interesting, from this blog.
