The difference between a starter kit and a box set is simply one of volume. A box set contains my favorites from a genre I am very well acquainted with. A starter kit includes a list of music from a genre / theme that intrigues me, but that I have limited experience with. This is my first starter kit.
I have listened to a lot of experimental rock, but much of it is well known stuff. This list is intended to encourage myself to listen to more obscure albums from the various genres that can be considered experimental rock.
